What does it truly mean to 'not listen'? NOISE REDUCTION - a new dance project by Graham Shelor - is an exploration of the multifaceted nature of this inaction, examining its potential for both harm and liberation. This project marks a significant milestone for me as a choreographer, as this will be my first evening-length work produced in Atlanta. This piece invites audiences to consider the relationship between listening and liberation through physicality, aligning with my artistic mission of 'unlocking embodied empathy'. This piece is the beginning of making that mission resonate in the Atlanta community.

This fall, I was fortunate to receive a residency at the Decatur School of Ballet through the Meli Kaye Artist Residency program. For three months, I worked with talented dancers to research and develop the ideas behind NOISE REDUCTION. Now, I will be turning this work into a fully produced, one of its kind show.

While I have many resources afforded to me that grant access to space and time to create, there still remain financial hurdles to realize this work's full potential. While I anticipate to invest my own personal funds to help support this work, I desire to lean on the community for help as well before production deadlines need to be met.

Your crucial donations will directly fund:

Dancer Compensation: A stipend as fair compensation for the countless hours and creative energy they have dedicated to this project.

Lighting, Sound, and Costume Design: Bringing the work to life and creating a captivating, immersive environment by working with talented collaborators and providing them fair compensation for their contributions.

Photography: Paying photographers to document the work and using what they capture to share the work with wider audiences.

Marketing and Outreach: Sharing this work with the Atlanta community and beyond.

Whether it's $1, $10, or $100 your donation matters! By supporting this work, you are also investing in the vibrancy of Atlanta's artistic community. This project seeks to build community conversation and foster new creative and social connections with all those residing in Atlanta and beyond - goals made possible by your contribution.
