Riddim World Dance Troupe
Riddim World Dance Troupe is a student-run organization founded at Middlebury College in 1998. Originally focused on Afro-Caribbean genres, it has evolved into a platform for students to explore and share diverse dance styles from around the world. I was a student choreographer and board member for two years (2022-2023).
The most rewarding aspect of this organization was its creative potential. I was able to continue my training in hip-hop and jazz while choreographing dances for students of varying skill levels. These experiences honed my creative abilities and introduced me to new styles like Kathak and Gqom, thanks to the knowledge shared by students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
